Support for the Early Childhood Years
So You Can Focus on What Matters
About Me
Nicole Guerrero, M.Ed.
I’m a New York State certified educator in Early Childhood Education (Birth - Grade 2) and Teaching Students with Disabilities (Birth - Grade 2).
I have over 15 years of experience in school settings and working directly with families in homes. I've done it all in the field, from babysitting and nannying to being a lead teacher and Preschool Education Director. I even ran a successful multi-family "pod preschool" out of a house for the 2020-2021 school year! I also worked at Lovevery, chatting with parents daily with both general questions and ones related to disability support.
Parent partnerships are everything, and I now work as an Early Intervention Special Instructor (aka Developmental Therapist) and Certified Parent Coach. It involves working with parents, caregivers, and educators on strategies they can use to best support children's development — all during everyday routines and play.
Early childhood is a magical time, and I know firsthand how challenging it can be. I look forward to empowering educators, parents, and caregivers of little ones to move from frustration and overwhelm to connection and joy.
My Approach
As Dr. Maria Montessori wrote, “Play is the work of the child.”
I believe early childhood should be FUN! When we slow down and connect with our inner child, we can meet children where they are in their development and help them grow the necessary skills for the future.
Imagine being that authoritative, secure adult who is warm but also firm with loving boundaries. Children listen when you speak, and every day doesn’t feel like an uphill battle in survival mode.
Young children are wired for play. It’s how they learn about the world and connect with others. It helps them feel seen, safe, soothed, and secure. After all, no one’s freely singing, dancing, or laughing when their nervous system is activated!
In this digital age, it’s more important than ever to raise imaginative and problem-solving creators and leaders. I use play, playfulness, and mindful presence to build trusting relationships that lead to children safely exploring their curiosity and wonder with a sense of whimsy. What’s more joyful and magical than that?
